Cadillac has issued the following press release:
CADILLAC CTSm – A BOLD NEW TAKE ON LUXURY
The debut of the Cadillac CTSm customized concept vehicle proves that luxury can be synonymous with bold. The CTSm further separates luxury from conservative design by adding even bolder premium luxury elements. It certainly helps that the CTSm is inspired by Cadillacs to be seen in the upcoming movie, “The Matrix Reloaded.”
“The Cadillac CTSm displays how Cadillac can appeal to a younger, upscale audience,” said Jay Spenchian, Cadillac CTS marketing director. “The CTSm features the perfect customization that will turn heads not only on the street, but at Hollywood film and Broadway theater premiers as well. The CTSm is luxury, but it possesses a style that’s sure to make an impact.” A one-off concept, the Cadillac CTSm debuts at the 2002 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas.
Cadillac and GM Performance Division outfitted this customized version of Cadillac’s all-new entry-luxury sports sedan with such upgrades as an Ebony Diamond body color, which mates beautifully with the vehicle’s ebony leather seats with accented cashmere piping. The ebony leather-wrapped instrument panel console is accented by a black chrome console trim. Black chrome also adorns other interior components including the door pulls, grab handles, shift knob and speaker grille bezels. A premium Alcantara headliner, closed-loop pile carpeting and leather-bound floor mats complete the interior aesthetics.
Outside, the CTSm features Z-rated tires and 19-inch black chrome wheels. The CTSm cuts a stunning profile with its black chrome grille and modified front and rear fascias and ground effects. HID Bi-Xenon headlamps and fog lamps that all match in color and intensity flesh out the exterior look of expressive, bold luxury.
CADILLAC ESCALADE ESV PLATINUM PUSHES THE LUXURY SUV ENVELOPE — Toyota's Matrix concept at the 2007 SEMA Show.
The Cadillac Escalade ESV Platinum concept vehicle showcases what has made Escalade great with many luxurious new features added to make it a showstopper. Debuting at the 2002 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas, the Escalade ESV Platinum is a customized concept vehicle that pushes the envelope on luxury.
“The Cadillac Escalade ESV Platinum provides luxury SUV buyers with unparalleled technology, performance and cargo-and-passenger-carrying capabilities,” said Susan Docherty, Cadillac Escalade marketing director. “Cadillac has always been an icon in terms of luxury and opulence, and the ESV continues that tradition.”
The two-toned cashmere and ebony interior accentuates the vehicle inside. A cashmere Alcantara headliner surrounds the greenhouse. Ebony leather covers the dash and seats, which feature first and second row heating/cooling, and Alcantara accent piping. Front-row passengers can access two heated and cooled cup holders in the center console. The dash and center console is fitted with Walnut Burl trim. Vehicle vital statistics are monitored on a new sterling silver plated gauge cluster with new graphics. Sterling silver accents also appear throughout the interior. Medium cashmere, closed-loop pile carpet and leather bound floor mats cover the floor. Metal “Cadillac” door sill plates serve as finishing touches to the most luxurious interior ever to find its way into an Escalade.
The Escalade ESV Platinum offers the driver and passengers multiple forms of in-vehicle entertainment. A Bose premium music system with a six-CD changer and XM Radio provide hours of enjoyment through the nine speakers. A DVD-based navigation system offers turn-by-turn directions and points of interest, such as banks, ATMs and gas stations, when needed. A rear-seat entertainment system with dual 7-inch screens gives second- and third-row passengers multi-source capability – the option to watch the same DVD movie on both screens, watch different DVDs on each screen or to plug in a game console or camcorder.
The exterior is equally striking. The first full-vehicle application of the Midnight Silver tri-coat paint, which includes 24 different layers of paint, appears on the Escalade ESV Platinum. Several dark base coats are followed by 17 mid-coat layers and several clear coat layers that combine to create a lustrous Midnight Silver paint job. — sustainability concepts at the Tokyo Show.
The signature Escalade grille is sterling-silver plated to complement the tri-coat paint. The Escalade ESV Platinum rolls on V-rated tires mounted on sterling silver-plated, 20-inch Kruz “Whitney” wheels. Exterior upgrades also include HID Bi-Xenon headlamps and fog lamps that all match in color and intensity.
CADILLAC DEBUTS ULTIMATE EXECUTIVE SEDAN: THE DTS ICON
The Cadillac DTS Icon customized concept vehicle was designed to meet the high expectations of on-the-go business executives who are accustomed to luxurious comfort and conveniences. The Cadillac DTS Icon is one of the GM concept cars debuting at the 2002 Specialty Equipment Market Association annual showcase in Las Vegas and represents the ultimate in a customized Cadillac luxury sedan.
“The Cadillac DTS Icon represents the ultimate luxury sedan,” said Kip Wasenko, director of Special Vehicles Design, General Motors Performance Division. “We performed deep-dive research into luxury coaches and first-class jet airliners to determine exactly what today’s business executives expect from a luxury mobile office. The DTS Icon is the direct result of that research.”
The DTS Icon features enhanced rear-task lighting to enable executives to get work done. Underseat lights offer ambient lighting that prevents an isolated, boxed-in feeling. Two dual-source LCD screens with leather shade covers are conveniently located on the back of both front driver and passenger seats in order to face both individually tailored and adjustable rear seats, which are separated by a luxurious center-rear console that features rear-seat OnStar controls. — Opel Insignia's new era design.
The Bose premium sound system presents a world-class aural experience. Wireless headphones offer luxury convenience and comfort, while the heated and cooled cashmere leather seats offer power massaging. Heated and cooled cup holders keep beverages at the desired temperature. Fold-out tray tables serve as an executive work desk or dining tray. Laptop computer users can employ one of two rear-seat 110-volt outlets.
While the executive labors furiously on pressing business matters in the rear seat, front occupants are not neglected. The driver has the pleasure of superb Cadillac DTS driving dynamics, while the driver and front passenger are treated to ultimate luxury. The instrument panel is wrapped in cashmere leather and trimmed with light burled eucalyptus wood and sterling silver accents. The steering wheel is heated to complement the heated and cooled front seats and cup holders.
All passengers are swathed in additional luxurious amenities. Interior components are plated with premium sterling silver. The Alcantara headliner and rear shelf make a bold statement. The medium cashmere carpeting is a closed-loop pile along with the floor mats, which are leather-bound. Laminated glass is used for improved noise isolation and enhanced security. The side doors offer “light-touch” features that enable the door to close and latch automatically with minimal effort.
The interior amenities of the DTS Icon are matched by the vehicle’s exterior customized upgrades. The tri-coat Midnight Silver body color accents the rich, luxurious look of the vehicle. The grille is plated in sterling silver to further enhance exterior features. Tasteful modifications to the front and rear fascias and rocker-panel extensions, along with the addition of a custom-integrated rear spoiler further distinguish the appearance of the vehicle, which stands on 19-inch sterling silver-plated wheels and Z-rated tires.
