Malaysian national carmaker Perodua introduced several new and updated models at the Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show which opened its doors today.
Perodua concept car
The Perodua concept car is designed in-house by our R&D; in collaboration with Millard Ventures of Australia. This cross between a mini car and an MPV will capture the imagination of the public and enhance Perodua’s image of technological strength and progress as a Manufacturer. This running prototype that took 18 months to complete is of state-of-the-art design. This concept car clearly shows Perodua’s capabilities of developing advanced models to meet the changing tastes of Malaysian customers.
Kelisa Rapid
The success of the Kancil to date can be attributed not only to the average buyers but also a growing number of customers who buy with a view to modify. Some of these customers have mentioned that they did not favour the Kelisa because of the limited availability of modification parts/accessories to suit their personal taste.
The Limited and Special Edition models of the Kelisa have contributed towards enhancing its image. Now, we have gone one step further by creating a racing-inspired version to generate interest and excitement for this segment of the market and demonstrate the potential for sporting/racing modification of the Kelisa, and to project it as a tough, macho and fast vehicle.
The racing-inspired Kelisa on display incorporates actual components that will enable it to give other cars in its c.c. class a run for their money on the tracks. — Proton Persona launch.
Kembara CT Fighter
The Kembara has always been positioned as a rugged adventure vehicle. However, the majority of its owners use the Kembara for city driving and do not venture off-road with it.
To make the most of this image of the Kembara and its good looks, we have equipped our display DVVT model with lowered springs, wider tyres and sports rims to reflect a sporty street SUV image. Also included is an onboard reverse camera system for better view. The special paint which can appear to be green, blue or purple depending on the angle of viewing makes the Kembara an attention grabber on the road.
Kenari Leisure Mobile
The Kenari, although successful in terms of sales, still has an unconventional boxy ’tall boy’ image. The Kenari Leisure Mobile on display offsets this by using images and fitments that transform it into a leisure machine. The large expanse of painted metal on the side body acts as a backdrop for interesting images of beaches or coconut trees. A ladder is fitted in the rear to visually reduce the overall height of the vehicle.
Based on the family concept it neatly carries camping equipment, some collapsible chairs, picnic baskets and drinks for a fun-filled outing. This concept vehicle portrays the Kenari as the most suitable mini MPV for recreation and fun. — Auto Beijing 2006 showcase.
Kenari Hybrid
Showcasing Perodua’s capability, in synergy with the theme ’leading the way forward’, is the Kenari Hybrid. Although we are a specialist in small and affordable vehicles, the tie-up with our technology partner Daihatsu Motor Co Ltd (DMC) Japan enables us to tap into the latest engine technologies. The Kenari is fitted with an internal combustion engine of a conventional vehicle, equipped with enhanced battery and electrical systems resulting in twice the fuel economy of conventional vehicles. This also serves to reinforce Perodua’s contribution to society for a cleaner environment.
Kenari Kasih
Almost all Perodua buyers have elderly parents or aged relatives. The Kenari Kasih is a vehicle designed with a caring concept. It enables a wheel chair together with its occupant to slide in conveniently through the rear door.
This convenient feature encourages younger family members to include their invalid parents in family activities and helps propagate filial piety, an Asian tradition.
This display concept also reflects on Perodua as being a Manufacturer with concern for the older generation, which is in line with the government’s call for a caring society. — compact car evolution.
Kancil Fun Art
The Kancil is often viewed by most people as a practical and affordable car only.
The Fun Art Concept dispels this notion and projects the car as a vehicle to be dreamt about, to have fun with, to be seen in and to be admired.
Public response to the accessories and colour scheme of this display model will be valuable feedback for future production.
