Volkswagen AG issued the following press release:
The Volkswagen Group has appointed Murat G’nak (44) as Head of Design at the Volkswagen brand group (Volkswagen, ’koda, Bentley) with effect from 1 April 2003. In this capacity, he will report to Dr. Hartmut Warkuss (62), Head of Design Volkswagen Group, and is expected to become his successor at a later date. For the Volkswagen Group, this appointment is a further important step towards implementing the new brand group structure. — Peugeot's strategic agreements.
Murat G’nak studied design at Hochschule f’r Bildende Kunst (Academy of Fine Arts) in Kassel and was awarded the degree of Master of Automotive Design by the Royal College of Arts in London. Murat G’nak became Head of Design at Peugeot in 1994 before moving in 1998 to become responsible for the design of Mercedes Passenger Cars, Maybach and SLR at DaimlerChrysler AG in Stuttgart. — Mercedes-Benz production milestones.
