First Automobile Works unveiled its new Benteng (Galloping forward) at the Hangzhou Auto Show.
The independently developed Benteng is the first member of a new generation of Hongqi models. It is based on the Mazda6, manufactured in China by the FAW-Mazda joint venture. — FAW Group's broader Auto China 2006 showcase.
Benteng is equipped with a four-cylinder, 16-valve engine capable of 120 kW, maximum torque 204 Nm coupled with five-speed manual gearbox. ABS with electronic brake force distribution, traction control and dynamic stability control systems and 6 airbags are standard features. — DongFeng's Auto China 2006 presence.
The car will go on sale in August, priced around RMB 200,000-250,000. — SAIC's new Roewe brand launch.
