Intro: Launched in 1984 by Ray Christopher, GT Developments has been producing extremely accurate replicas of Ford's fantastic GT40 ever since. Over 400 cars have been produced over the years and in 1999 Roger Marsh bought the license to produce the GDT40 from Christoper and GTD Supercars came into being. The company operates from a 3500sq/ft unit employing some six staff. Body/chassis manufacture is subcontracted to a company in South Africa, leaving the UK operation to concentrate on its other core business of race engineering. Around 50% of all GTD 40 orders are for export and most are supplied in component form for home assembly. The company went down at the end of 2002 to be resurrected as Mirage GTD Developments. |
