AvtoVAZ exhibited several new and interesting models at the 6th Russian International Autosalon in Moscow.
VAZ 2170
This Mondeo-sized limousine is based on the 2110 but it boasts new exterior and interior styling. Also the dimensions have been increased related to the 2110 so according to Yevgenz Lobanova, chief designer of AvtoVAZ it now belongs to the “prestige luxury” class. — AvtoVAZ transfers production of its 21043 to IzhAuto.
AvtoVAZ employed CAD for the first time resulting in shorter development time and hopefully better quality. Special care was devoted to pedestrian safety.
Electrically adjusted seats, higher quality trimming are the main news in the interior. The dashboard has also been replaced. Automatic air-conditioning, dual airbags are other “luxury” features. — Lada Kalina.
The engine was also upgraded and it now has a volume of 1,8 liters. — Renault's new vehicle production in Russia.
Production is scheduled to start around 2004.
VAZ Revolution
Racing prototype, powered by a 215 bhp 1,6 liter engine coupled to a 6-speed sequential gearbox. Created under the slogan “the harmony of revolution” the little roadster accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 6,5 seconds and has a maximum speed of 260 km/h.
The body is made of aluminium and glass-reinforced plastic.
