Continuing to create excitement in the mid-size Ikon segment, Ford India launched its next generation “Josh Machine”- The Ford Ikon NXT. Encapsulating both performance and styling enhancements, the Ford Ikon NXT variants remains a step ahead of the others with their new exterior styling cues, interior refinements and contemporary looks.

Revealing the Ford Ikon NXT, Randy Shockley, Vice-President, Sales, Marketing and Service, Ford India, said “So much has changed in the Ford Ikon over last three years that we could only call these new offerings the “NEXT” Ikons. The Ford Ikon NXT come at a stage when these evolutionary enhancements mark a significant step up to the next level”.

Expressing a strong and spirited attitude, the new Ford Ikon NXT offered in the ZXi version has a differentiated front end with a body colour surround diamond mesh grille and an enhanced front bumper with monochromatic paint treatment, integrated fog lamps and airdam. — New Ford Fiesta sedan.

Transcending to the next level of power and performance, the Ford Ikon NXT in the CLXi version, offers an greatly enhanced driving experience with the introduction of the new 1.3 ROCAM engine. By leveraging the spirited and proven performance attributes of the ROCAM engine family, the new 1.3 ROCAM delivers a “Josh” drive feel and characteristics in-line with its larger 1.6 sibling. The 1.3 is especially tuned for real world city driving conditions and offers an optimal mix of performance and fuel economy.

The exterior enhancements to the Ikon NXT models are also complemented by a complete interior makeover. The entire range of the Ikon NXT gets fresher and livelier interior with a new ” Truffle ” environment colour, as well as new seat and door trims. The ZXi version of the Ford Ikon NXT has been equipped with a height adjustable driver’s seat and three lens front courtesy lamp with theatre-style dimming, offering drivers greater comfort and convenience. The interior changes are all part of a thematic enhancement resulting from consumer research and an in-depth study of colour and trim trends. — The Fiat 500 Car of the Year 2008.

With the introduction of an additional mainline colour “Steel Mist”, the Ford Ikon NXT models will be available in 9 colours at launch.
