Intro: General Motors of Canada is the country’s largest manufacturer of passenger cars, light trucks, locomotives and automobile components. Its coast-to-coast employee force of almost 26,000 operates nine manufacturing plants, six Parts Distribution Centres along with six Zone Offices. Other units of General Motors operating in Canada include General Motors Acceptance Corporation (GMAC), International Product Centre (IPC ’formerly known as CANEXPO), and unique to General Motors of Canada is the GM Cold Weather Development Centre in Kapuskasing, Ontario.
