Intro: One of the UK's biggest specialist car manufacturers, Westfield produced 468 cars in 2001, of which 96 were ex works turnkey examples predominantly for export into Europe. Although late on the bandwagon, Westfield has pushed hard for a slice of the motorbike-engined car market, the success of which can be measured by the fact that 30% of all orders were for cars with a motorcycle engine in the front. Westfield operates from a large 23,000sq/ft factory, employing 54 staff. The mid-engined XTR2 is the company latest addition to its model range - a track-inspired motorbike-powered racer which can also be used on the road. Launched in 2002, it has already received an overwhelmingly positive response. |
