Intro: Originally formed by David Golightly in 1991, Onyx began by offering a pretty little Fiat Panda-based two-seater sports car called the Firefly (of which around 60 were sold). A more purposeful re-invention of the Firefly came about with the Uno-based Firecat (about 49 cars were sold). More recently, co-director Carla Smith has taken over the company and in 2001 around 40 kits were dispatched along with one factory-finished example. Today's production centres around the Mini and Metro-based Bobcat, Roadcat and Fastcat. |
