Intro: One of the largest local producers of pickup trucks and SUVs Baoding Great Wall (Changcheng) Automobile Holding Co. has a capacity of 150,000 units anually with another 100,000 units of its 491QE engine. The company is listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
In late 2004 new plans were announced towards the creation of two new plants - one to produce 200,000 economy cars a year, another to produce 200,000 family cars each year.
Great Wall is now looking for ways to increase its international presence: in addition to the Middle East and Africa, Great Wall products are now available in Russia, while North American, Australian and European distribution plans are also under consideration.
