Intro: Suzuki Motor Corp. has established a joint venture with Myanmar Automobile and Diesel Engine Industries (MADEI) in November 1998. The newly formed joint venture, Myanmar Suzuki Motor Co Ltd is 60 percent held by Suzuki and 30 percent by MADEI.
MADEI belongs to the 2nd industry ministry and is suspected to be making mines and guns so international human-rights groups have condemned the Japanese company for dealing with opressors.
Myanmar Suzuki has been in operation since 1999 and is producing the previous generation Wagon R, a small pick-up and a motorcycle. |
