Intro: First Auto Works and Volkswagen set up this company in 1991, but the first Audi 200 was assembled at FAW in 1989.
Although FAW-VW commenced local operations in 1992, full-scale production was only launched in July, 1996. Main product is the FAW-VW Jetta which is continuously being updated. Production of the VW Bora started in 2002.
Audi production was also moved to Changchun in 1996 and right now the A6 and the A4 are being produced here.
On 7th of January, 2004 the 1,000,000th car rolled off the assembly line. |
