Intro: The company was established in December, 1995 by Honda Motor Co. (Japan) and Siel Ltd (India). Production of the City car started in December 1997 with an indigenization level of over 50 per cent, which has been raised to the current level of 72 per cent.
The City was followed by the New City in November, 1999. In August, 2000 a new VTEC version of the City was unveiled. The Accord was added to the range in July, 2001.
In the summer of 2003 the Accord was replaced with the 7th generation model.
In late 2005 production capacity was increased from 30,000 to 50,000 units. |
