Intro: I.D.E.A. (Institute of Development in Automotive Engineering) was founded in 1978 by Franco Mantegazza. In a career spawning 20 years I.D.E.A was not renowned for breakthrough prototypes but designed such models, as the Fiat Tempra or the Alfa Romeo 155 and also helped in the design process of the Indian Tata company's passenger car programme.
In July, 2002 Franco and his wife, Ursula withdrew from the business and Rieter Holding Ltd.., based in Switzerland which has already held a majority interest in the company has took full control. |
