Intro: Dart Engineering has been created by Les Hayden, a long-time sports car enthusiast and originator of the Cobra replica in South Africa, to bring to fruition two exciting projects - the resurrection of the once-famous GSM Dart, a uniquely South African designed and built sports car from the sixties, and the introduction of a totally re-engineered Cobra replica with vastly improved levels of road-holding, handling and comfort.
Les's experience with Cobras, and sports car manufacture in general, is vast. He designed his first Cobra replica in the early 1980's, and started manufacture in 1984. In 1994, Les decided to sell his business in order to focus on new
designs and set up Dart Engineering in 1996 which currently offer the resurrected Dart and a Cobra replica.
