Intro: Herbert Funke and Philip Will studied automotive engineering at the Cologne Technical University. Together they decided to graduate in style by designing a roadster based on an aluminium space frame.
It was at this time, late 1996 that they got to know Oliver Schweizer who was about to finish his design studies at Karlsruhe.
The trio completed the two-seater by 1998 and got the chance to exhibit it at the 1999 Frankfurt Autoshow.
The Yes! as the attractive roadster was named became a huge hit at the show so a decision was made to produce the car in small series.
Funke and Will established their own engineering firm and settled at Grossenhain near Dresden. After much development the final version was presented at the 2001 Frankfurt Auto Show along with the Clubsport version equipped with hard-top and folding-doors.
