Intro: Toyota Motor Manufacturing France (MMF) is Toyota's second-largest production operation in Europe. Its plant at Valenciennes was inaugurated in November, 1998. Production of the Yaris (Vitz in Japan) started in January, 2001 and produced about 60,000 cars in its first year.
The 1st generation Yaris became a runaway succes in Europe, so capacity was increased before the second generation Yaris was unveiled at the 2005 Frankfurt Motorshow.
