Intro: Low volume UK manufacturer of traditionally styled roadsters available in turnkey and/or component form for home assembly. Marlin Engineering was formed in 1979, producing the Triumph-based Marlin Roadster (see also YKC Engineering). Today's model range comprises the Cabrio, Hunter (turnkey only), Sportster and, most recently, the Makira (turnkey only). The Cabrio was launched in 1990 and all are two-seater open-top sports cars using bespoke Marlin chassis with either Ford Sierra/Scorpio or BMW 3-series suspension components. Marlin has a reputation for high quality and excellent performance. Turnkey cars are available from £20,000 GBP for a Sportster, while it is possible to complete a home-built example from as little as £5000 GBP. |
