Intro: Established in 1991, Dakar Cars is a two-pronged business, one side selling the chunky Range Rover-based Dakar and the other running, servicing and supplying parts for all Range Rover variants. Originally penned by Denis Adams and marketed as the Cortina-based Rotrax, the Dakar Cars' variant was modified by the company's Barry Chantler so that it would fit the larger donor and, in this guise, was approved by Adams. To date some 350 Dakars have been sold worldwide
