Intro: Since 1960 Karmann has got a production facility in Brazil. Karmann-Ghia do Brasil produced entire vehicles for the South American market, like the Volkswagen Karmann-Ghia and the Ford Escort Convertible. In 1998 local assembly of the Land Rover Defender has started. Today, 410 employees are working in the plant at various divisions, like vehicle manufacturing and manufacturing engineering (Press shop, Jigs and Fixtures).
810 Defenders were put together in 2003.
