Intro: The Kewet was originally developed in Denmark but in 1999 ElBil Norge, which had been a Kewet distributor since 1992, acquired ownership of the technological and production rights. At the time of purchase it was calculated that approximately EUR 18 million had been invested in the product and sales had been achieved in more than 20 countries.
In the summer of 2000 ElBil Norge received authorisation to manufacture the vehicle in its own workshop in Oslo. In recent years the company has further developed the car, built a production line in Oslo and increased the company’s share capital in order to expand the business.
