Intro: A Danish company, named CityCom Randers A/S developed this three-wheeler electric microcar. Production and distribution were taken over by the Germans in 1995 who developed the company from simple GmbH (Ltd) to AG (Plc) in four years time.
In 2000 140 electrovehicles were produced and in the first month of 2001 89 new cars and 31 used were sold. This is below the planned 500 cars per year rate. A new SpeedyEl prototype has been completed recently with features such as increased travel range to 70 km and higher top speed of 65 km/h. |
