Intro: BMW Manufacturing Corporation is BMW's first full U.S. manufacturing facility. Located in Spartanburg, South Carolina, the plant has almost doubled in size since opening in 1994.
Ever-increasing demand resulted in a 1998 $600 million expansion, enlarging the facility's size from 1.2 to 2.1 million square feet, enabling it to continue exporting BMWs to over 100 countries and become the sole manufacturer of the new BMW X5.
Also the Z4 roadster is produced locally.
