Intro: Turkey's biggest automobile factory is located in Sakaryia and belongs to Toyota. Formerly controlled by the Sabanci Group it is now owned by Toyota Motor Corp. (90 per cent) and Mitsui&Co; (10 per cent).
It has been producing Corollas as a TMC subsidiary since 1994 and from February, 2002 it is one of the main export bases for the European market. In 2004 production of the Corolla Verso was also transferred to Sakaryia. |
