Intro: Tan Chong & Sons Motor Co. is the franchise holder for Nissan vehicles in Malaysia & Singapore since 1958. Nissan cars sold in Singapore are fully imported from Japan, whilst those in Malaysia are locally assembled.
The assembly plant in Kuala Lumpur has a capacity of 30,000 units in single-shift operation. In late 2004 a decision was made on a new plant to assemble commercial vehicles.
A wholly-owned subsidiary of Tan Chong, TC Euro Cars Sn Bhd distributes Renault cars locally and assembly of the Kangoo started in December, 2004. |
