Intro: Waaijenberg is a relatively new company but it achieved remarkable success in the field of invalid motor carriages recently. From March, 2003 only the Waaijenberg-produced Canta "super-compact buggies" will be eligible on the British roads for disabled people!
The first Canta was introduced in 1998 and a year later another version which can be driven from a wheelchair has been taken into production in early 1999.
Hundreds of Cantas are manufactured each year. Each Canta is specified upon its new owner's request the production line is able to cope with customized products. Almost no Canta leaving the production is the same as the one produced before or after. Not only customer requirements but also national laws keep the factory flexible. A Dutch version is allowed to run 50 km/h, a German Canta just 25 km/h and a Canta delivered to the United Kingdom runs at 70 km/h.
