Intro: Jean Bellier was a manufacturer of electric accumulators who built a tiny car for children in 1968.
It was presented at a Toy Fair in 1972 and became a runaway succes, being exported to 48 countries in a couple of years time.
At the 1976 Paris Motorshow Bellier presented his first adult-oriented automobile, the Veloto. This 2-seater was powered by a 49 cc Solex engine.
It was mainly aimed at pensioners who did not have a driving licence.
Bellier microcars are now exported to various European countries, including Austria and Norway. |
