Intro: Established in 1963 by Ferruccio Lamborghini, a respected tractor maker, the new sportscar quickly made a name itself among the Italian exoticars. Suc legendary types as the Miura, the Countach and the Diablo wore the proud raging bull sign.
Financial success is another matter so it was no wonder that a big company, namely Chrysler was needed to rescue the company in the 1980s. After another turbulent period Lamborghini is now in the safe hands of Audi. The new Murci’lago is already a huge hit.
New investments included a brand new engine facility and the development of another smaller car.
The long awaited "baby-Lambo" officially called Gallardo was introduced at the 2003 Geneva Motorshow with the Barchetta version of the Murci’lago a year later.
The open-top Gallardo followed in 2005.
