Intro: Distribution of Mitsubishi vehicles in Indonesia started back in 1970 as part of the Asian expansion movement. Three years later PT Krama Yudha Ratu Motors (KRM) was established as an assembly factory for Mitsubishi trucks and PT New Marwa 1970 Motors changed its name to become PT Krama Yudha Tiga Berlian Motors. Various commercial vehicles and later passenger cars were assembled in the next three decades, the latest beeing the Kuda, a local version of the Taiwan-developed Freeca a "dynamic family wagon" for the developing countries. The Kuda is powered by a new advanced 1600cc engine incorporating the latest engine technology Mitsubishi has to offer.
In 2005 PT Krama Yudha Kesuma Motors, the passenger car assembly plant where the Galant and Kuda were assembled was decided to be closed. However PT Krama Yudha Ratu Motors, where heavy-duty trucks and the L300/T120 family were assembled
remains open. This company is controlled by Mitsubishi Fuso Truck&Bus.; |
