Suzuki introduced a new generation of its popular Alto in Japan earlier today. Here are some of the key data, while a full English press release is expected later this week.
The new 6th generation Alto is riding on the new small car platform, which was first utilized in the new Wagon R last year. As the length is fixed at 3395 mm, height has been extended with 30 mm to 1230 mm. — Wagon R platform.
Unique exterior styling has some new Swift overtones.
Interior is more roomier and the seats grew bigger. Rear seats can be folded down for increased luggage compartment. — Swift Sport variant.
The usual 660 cc 40 kW (54 bhp) engine sits at the front. It can be coupled to a 5-speed manual or either 3- or 4-speed automatic gearboxes. There are both 2WD and 4WD variants available. — compact Twin model.
