PSA has issued the following press release:
Two important sets of agreements have been signed yesterday in Tehran between Peugeot and Iran Khodro. — Renault's X90 production partnership.
The first one regards a new 206 design to be introduced in the Peugeot range within the next two years. The car which is specifically developed by a joint engineering effort of the two parties is going to be the most important export programme in Iranian automotive industry history. The car which is designed as a medium-size family car is expected to be very successful in the domestic and in the target export markets. For the first time, some Eastern European countries are also listed as export targets. — PSA's Slovak plant development.
The second agreement concerns the introduction of 307 model ranges on the Iranian market within 2-3 years. It will be added to the Peugeot product ranges for the core demand of Iranian customers. In this agreement, the two parties have a clear-cut plan for export. The 307 will be introduced on the Iranian market with a very high profile options already included in the car. — SEAT's C/D-segment production plans.
