Sportiness and versatility go hand in hand in the new C’rdoba. Roomier than its predecessor, it retains its classic four door, sedan body configuration. The wheelbase has been increased by 17 mm and the width by 58 mm to create a larger interior while the boot has 30 litres greater luggage capacity.
To increase its driver appeal, the new C’rdoba has exciting looks, enhanced comfort, greater safety, improved aerodynamics (an outstanding Cd value of 0.30), a more sporty chassis and a wide range of new engines.
The new engine line-up comprises three petrol and three Diesel options, ranging in output from 64 to 130 hp. The most potent C’rdoba is powered by a 130 hp (96 kW) 1.9-litre high-performance TDi turbo-diesel, mated to a six speed gearbox. — SEAT's production expansion in Martorell.
Other Diesel engines are the 100 hp (74 kW) 1.9 TDi and the 64 hp (47 kW) normally aspirated 1.9 SDi. The petrol range comprises three efficient, multi-valve engines: the innovative 64 hp (47 kW) three-cylinder 1.2* and a pair of 1.4-litre four-cylinder units developing 75 hp (55 kW) and 100 hp (74 kW). The 75 hp engine is also available with an automatic gearbox.
Following the lead set by other models in the SEAT range, the new C’rdoba will be available in three trim and equipment levels: Stella, Sport and Signo. — VW Group's global production strategy.
Central to the C’rdoba’s dynamic handling is the “Agile Chassis”, a new chassis concept developed by SEAT’s Martorell Technical Centre and which has already proven its effectiveness in the new Ibiza and Le’n Cupra R models.
The “Agile Chassis” combines carefully tuned suspension ratings, revised geometry and an electronically controlled ’intelligent’ programme that adapts the level of power assistance for the steering to the driving conditions. The new SEAT C’rdoba is further evidence of SEAT’s drive to design cars brimming with a sporty character, as first demonstrated in the masterful lines of the Salsa and Tango concept-cars. The resulting energetic and exciting styling is fast becoming the hallmark of the Spanish brand, summed up in the company brand claim: “SEAT auto emoci’n”.
