Intro: A wholly owned subsidiary of Volvo Car Corp. the Thai-Swedish Assembly plant near Bangkok cover 27,000 square metres. 300 Thais and two Swedes are assembling 2,000 passenger cars a year on a single shift. About 10% of them have been trained in Sweden. The plant is the only luxury car factory in Thailand that is both ISO 9002 and 14001 certified.
In 2006 it became the first local plant to receive Free Zone status by the Customs Department.
