Intro: Eugen Eble has been restoring ex-Army Chevrolet pick-ups and Blazers since 1992. In 1997 a deal was struck with the S.D. Baker company in Texas to supply Hummer-lookalike bodies which were bolted to Chevrolet frames in Germany.
As civil Hummers were rarely seen in Europe at that time these "Hummlets" became a popular choice for those who wanted a Hummer without hassles. Powered by a 6.2-liter V8 Chevy engine it almost replicats the original in style.
Nowadays Eble customers have the choice to select between the normal Hummer and its plastic-bodied copy as the company has been selling Hummers since 2000. |
