Intro: One of the UK's best known kit car companies, DJ Sportscars was formed in 1968 to produce fibreglass Cobra replica bodyshells. Today the company pumps out over 100 kits each year, split 50/50 between the longstanding Dax Tojeiro fake snake and Dax Rush - a Lotus Seven inspired roadster. Working from a sprawling 9200sq/ft industrial unit in Harlow, Essex, DJ currently employs 18 staff members, producing both bodies and chassis in-house. Justifiably at the very pinnacle of the component car scene, DJ is unusual in not offering any form of turnkey option on its cars (although various build agents are available).
